Study Permits

A Study Permit is a document issued by the Canadian government that allows international students to study in Canada at a designated learning institution (DLI). International students must have a valid Study Permit in order to study in Canada.
To be eligible for a Study Permit, international students must first apply to and be accepted by a DLI. The School then provides them with a Provincial attestation letter issued by the province. They must then apply for a Study Permit from the Canadian government. providing information such as their letter of acceptance and proof of financial support.
In addition to the Study Permit, most international students may also need a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) in order to enter Canada. The TRV is a separate document that is issued by the Canadian government and allows international students to enter Canada.
Once in Canada, international students are required to comply with the conditions of their Study Permit, such as maintaining full-time student status and making satisfactory academic progress. They are also allowed to work limited hours while studying in Canada.
